Important Note Regarding Gravity Feed Filter Use
Sediment is a common culprit when it comes to blockages in gravity feed filters. To prevent this, it’s advisable to use a sediment filter prior to running water through this particular filter when using well water.
However, for city water, the need for pre-filtration may vary depending on the area, as water quality can fluctuate. In any case, loose sediment on the outside of the filter can be easily rinsed off.
Keep in mind that sediment accumulation can lead to flow issues, which can ultimately shorten the lifespan of the filter.
While Cerametix and Aquametix filters can be scrubbed to remove sediment, nano-fiber filters can only be rinsed.
Disclaimer: The performance and lifespan of the filters mentioned are subject to the specific water quality and dynamics of your location. If your water contains high levels of iron or significant sediment, it is recommended to consider purchasing a cerametix gravity feed filter to address these issues effectively (as Cerametix Filters can be scrubbed off). Please note that we are not responsible for any blockages caused by sediment present in your water supply.
Additional Features of the Nano-Fiber Gravity Feed Filter:
• Carbon & Silver Impregnated
• Reduces 99.9999% of waterborne viruses
• Reduces 99.9998% of waterborne bacteria
• Reduces 99.99% of waterborne protozoa
• Filters water up to 200 times faster than a mechanical (micron) filter
• Lasts longer, holds 20-25 times more dirt and contaminants than a mechanical (micron filter) capable of removing viruses
• Broad Spectrum contaminant reduction/removal with consistent removal rates for life of filter
• Filters enough water to sustain a family of four, for up to six months during an emergency, disaster situation
• They are not a mechanical filter media that relies on pore size to remove contaminants
• Removal of sub micron contaminants is achieved by electro-adhesion and ion exchange
• Filter is based on the mineral pseudoboehimite, AIO(OH)
• Each gram of Alumina fiber has a surface area greater that 500 sq. meters
• The active fibers are 2 nm in diameter and approximately 250 nm in length
• The crystal structure of the mineral creates a natural electrokinetic potential of Al+++ on the surface of the fiber
• It is not an electrostatic charge that can be dissipated by alcohol immersion
• Charge potential maintains integrity between pH of 5.0 – 9.5 in polar liquids
• The available hydroxyl group in each fiber will also exchange protons with many electropositive colloids to retain them through a form of ion exchange
• The Crystal structure allows for an extremely high surface area and a large number of active sites for sub-micron contamination removal
• The pore size of the media is engineered such that the charge field covers the entire void of every pore
• There are approximately 400 layers of these pores in the thickness of the media that contamination pass through during filtration, creating a tortuous path
• The charge field removes the negatively charged sub-micron particles while the larger particles are captured with the fiber structure of the media
• The Nano-fiber filter captures “small” particles not captured by conventional, mechanical filters
• The Nano-fiber filter captures organic/microbial macromolecules
• Removes bacteria and viruses
• Mean pore size of 1.25 microns
• Cartridge pressure drop <0.1 bar
• Unique benefits: High flow rates, low pressure drop at Sub-micron retention
• Each layer has Nano-alumina, powdered activated carbon, Antimicrobial silver and approximately 400 layers of charge fibers
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & COMPARISON CHART

DO YOUR GRAVITY FEED FILTERS ADDRESS FLUORIDE?
In lab tests, Cerametix showed a 97.5% fluoride reduction rate, Aquametix showed a 99.99% fluoride reduction rate. The Nano-Fiber filter has not yet been tested for fluoride removal.
HOW LONG DO THE GRAVITY FEED FILTERS LAST?
The Cerametix filters will last approximately 8 months with 2 filters (500 gallons per filter.) Aquametix filters will last approximately 1 year with 2 filters (750-1000 gallons per filter). Nano-Fiber filters will last approximately 1 year with 1 filter (2500 gallons.) Please note, replacement time will vary based on water dynamics/usage.
IF I LEAVE TOWN CAN I LEAVE MY FILTERS IN THE GRAVITY FEED?
If filters will be unused for an extended period of time, empty the reservoir of water and remove the filters. Rinse them, let them dry, and store them in a cool, dark place. When you’re ready to use them again, simply rinse them and re-install. Re-priming is not needed.
CAN I USE A RED-DYE TEST WITH THESE FILTERS?
Red-dye tests are not recommended as they are ineffective and will damage the filters, potentially making them unusable. Strip tests can be purchased and used to gauge when replacement is needed.
ARE THESE FILTERS 3RD PARTY TEST AND NSF CERTIFIED?
Our Cerametix and Aquametix filters are certified by NSF and have been 3rd party tested. The Nano-Fiber has been third-party tested and meets or exceeds NSF standards, however it has not been certified by NSF. Both filters are IAPMO certified and third party EPA certified lab tested.
Water Pure Nanofiber filters are 3rd party lab tested to reduce the following contaminants
>99.99% viruses (polio, rotavirus, norovirus, etc.)
>99.99% bacteria (e coli, legionella, pseudomonas, etc.)
>99.95% cysts (giardia, cryptosporidium, etc.)
The WP filters remove or rather reduces the following heavy metals:
>95% Lead
>80% Ferrous Iron
>95% Arsenic V
>95% Cadmium
>85% Chromium
>75% Selenium
>60% Mercury
Tested by a certified laboratory in the U.S. (testing was done at 6.5pH)
The WP filter removes or reduces the following organic and inorganic chemicals:
Chlorine (carbon version)
Bromine (carbon version)
Iodine (carbon version)
VOCs (volatile organic compounds)
*PCBs and BPA
Residual pharmaceuticals
Biofouling precursors: organic acids, proteins, polysaccharides

The Nano fiber electro-positive gravity filter for my Berkey gravity filter seems to be doing fine. However, the Berkey plugs that I ordered with the filter were merely 2 corks, extremely disappointing given that Berkey includes threaded screws & washers for a water tight seal with their products. Not only are the corks low tier in comparison to what’s available with Berkey, they leak!!! Such a disappointment as far as the plugs are concerned & I’m honestly shocked that this is what is meant by, “Berkey plugs” on my receipt.

Only thing is that this filter does not fit on Sertodo copper gravity system
Abigail Pedersen (verified owner) –
Works really well! The first time we used it the water flow was slow (as expected, and as told it would be), but now it filters pretty quickly.
